Latest Upcoming Electric Cars In India

An electric car is a car that is propelled by electric motors, using energy stored in rechargeable batteries. Compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, electric cars are quieter, have no exhaust emissions, and lower emissions overall.

In India demand of Electric cars are increasing day by day as the prices of petrol are also increasing and also due to various factors such as their environment friendly nature.

The market of electric cars in India is dominated by MG Motors India pvt. ltd. and other such companies such as tesla motors etc.

Here are the list of latest electric cars in India that are launching soon :

1. MG ZS EV



The MG ZS EV has 1 Electric Engine on offer. It is available with the Automatic transmission. The ZS EV is a 5 seater and has length of 4314mm, width of 1809mm and a wheelbase of 2585mm.

The 2021 MG ZS EV has been introduced in India with a price tag of Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model is available in two variants, Excite and Exclusive, priced at Rs 21 lakh and Rs 24.18 lakh, respectively.

Compared to the outgoing model, the 2021 MG ZS EV gets an updated iSmart system with Hinglish voice commands.


The e-XUV300 is expected to be launched in the second half of 2021. Mahindra will likely price the electrified XUV300 around Rs 15 lakh.

Mahindra hasn’t revealed any technical specifications of the e-XUV300 yet. Its battery pack and range is expected to be around the same as the Tata Nexon EV.


The US-spec Model 3 is offered in three electric powertrain options: Standard Plus, Long Range and Performance. While the former gets a rear-wheel drivetrain and has a claimed range of 423km on a single charge, the Long Range and Performance variants come with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup and deliver a claimed range of 568km and 507km respectively. The Performance variant, on the other hand, can do the 0-97kmph sprint in just 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 261kmph.


We expect the Altroz EV to be launched by late-2020 with a price tag of under Rs 15 lakh. The Altroz EV will be priced close to the Tata Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV300 EV.

Tata Altroz EV Battery: It is likely to feature a battery pack with close to 30kWh capacity that will offer a range of about 300km on a single charge.


Suzuki WagonR electric is an all-electric version of the Japanese WagonR, which will go on sale in India in 2020. In its regular petrol and hybrid version, it is already being sold in the carmaker’s home market since 2017. Maruti Suzuki has indicated that the electric version of the WagonR could cost upwards of Rs 9 lakh in India.
